Dr. Martin Zakrzewski Psy.D., R.Psych. received his Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University and went on to work for several years as a mental health specialist in the Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry units at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University in Oregon, with an emphasis in neuropsychology. He completed his internship in clinical neuropsychology at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vermont, with an emphasis on acquired brain injury assessment and rehabilitation, hospital-wide neuropsychological assessment and consultation, and medical psychology. Dr. Zakrzewski immigrated to Canada in 2000 to complete a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology within the Neuropsychiatry Program at Riverview Hospital, subsequently transitioning to a staff neuropsychologist position. He later transitioned to the Geriatric Psychiatry program while serving as the Director of Training for the CPA-accredited internship program based out of Riverview Hospital. With the closure of Riverview, Dr. Zakrzewski transitioned to a staff neuropsychologist position within the Tertiary Mental Health programs at Vancouver General Hospital. He also provided contracted neuropsychological assessments for the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital. He was recruited into the position of Director of Psychology, BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services, in April of 2016, and currently oversees psychological services delivery across the agency, including the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, several Regional Forensic Clinics, Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health and Addictions, and Correctional Health Services. He has served on the Board of Directors of the BC Psychological Association, as well as on the Advocacy Committee, since February of 2017.

Manal Guirguis-Younger, PhD is the Director of the PsyD program at Adler University. Dr. Guirguis-Younger’s research is focused in the areas of community, homelessness, palliative care, volunteer resources and alternative models of health service delivery to marginalized groups. Her work maps the unique health and social needs of various under-serviced populations at the end of life, providing recommendations on how to overcome the challenges impeding access to equitable health services. Throughout her career, and more strongly in recent years, she has been involved in academic leadership, models of governance, and program development. Prior to her appointment at Adler University, she served in multiple roles at Saint Paul University, Ottawa, Ontario, including Director of Graduate Studies, Director of MA and Doctoral-level Programs, as well as serving as Dean of the Faculty.

Dr. Lauren McBride is a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia based in Vancouver, BC. Dr. McBride has practiced as a Staff Psychologist at the University of British Columbia Counselling Services for over a decade. In her current role, as Interim Associate Director, Clinical Services, she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Service Delivery based on best practices in the field. As a staff psychologist at UBC Counselling Services Dr McBride provides brief, intentional mental health counselling to a diverse student population. Dr. McBride also provides mental health and mental performance support to UBC Varsity Athletes across 26 teams. Her background in both sport and counselling psychology provides a unique perspective to the concerns of student-athletes. Dr. McBride earned a Ed.D. in Counselling Psychology with a Sport Psychology specialization from Boston University and went on to complete her pre-doctoral internship at Western Washington University's Counseling Center and a post-doctoral internship at the University of British Columbia's Counselling Services. She also received her Ed.M. in Counseling Psychology, with a Sport Psychology specialization from Boston University and B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. Dr. McBride has also worked as a consultant for the Canadian Sport Institute-Pacific since 2008, supporting various National and Provincial Sport Organizations. She had the privilege to support Canadian Team Athletes in the 2014 Winter Games held in Sochi, Russia.
